Fashion and lifestyle updates straight from the District!

Meet Jordan: Washington, DC Fashionista

Co-Founder and Co-Editor of City Style @

Contact Jordan:

Hello City Stylers! My name is Jordan and I am lucky enough to get to live outside our nation’s capital. While the National Mall has an abundance of culture and history, DC’s more modern, posh neighborhoods are a great source for fashion and styling inspiration. I am excited to share all the wonders of DC with you and hope you enjoy our blog!

My personal style:

I would describe my personal style as girly and sophisticated, and heavily influenced by Blair Waldorf of the CW’s hit show Gossip Girl. I constantly think, “What Would Blair Wear?”. She is not only my style icon, but my idol. My closet is filled with chiffon blouses, satin shorts and lots of dresses.

My favorite places to shop:

I am a HUGE fan of the junior department at Nordstrom (I am member of their fashion board), but you can also find me shopping at Bloomingdales, Forever 21, H&M, and Express.

Favorite designer:

Karen Millen. I love the simple elegance that she incorporates into all of her designs.

What I love most about DC:

It is our nations capital! I am a nerd about history and politics. Living in such close proximity to the epicenter of our federal government is a thrill I never get tired of.

Fun Fact:

When I am not blogging about fashion, I am either playing field hockey or guarding lives at the neighborhood swimming pool.

New York, I Love You XOXO

Goodbyes are never easy. As I attempt to force back the impending tears, I repeat to myself of the wisdom of Dr. Suess: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” As I look back on the past five days, I realize I do have a lot to smile about.

I spent a week NYC, the greatest city in the world, studying Fashion Journalism at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), the coolest place I have ever been too. FIT is a mecca for those interested in studying fashion-everyone you meet is just as passionate, driven and style savvy as you are. There is a strong sense of community at FIT, and everyone there is kind and supportive. During my stay at FIT, I also got to meet the most amazing young women. The girls in my class were smart, stylish and sophisticated. I have no doubt that every one of them will find success in any career they pursue.

Not only was I lucky enough to meet these young women and study at FIT, I also got to live in the greatest city in the world for an entire week. I do not even know how to begin to describe my love for New York. Simply put, it is home to me. Home is where the heart is and my heart belongs to New York. The week I spent here gave me a glimpse at what the future holds and will remain with me forever. I cannot wait for the day I can call myself a New Yorker.

But for now, it is time to go back to DC, the place where my family and friends are. New York can wait. I am thrilled to be your DC style blogger and look forward to sharing with you!
