City Style says goodbye to 2013 with our Top 5 Favorite Moments of the Year
2013 was a monumental year for City Style, as this was our inaugural year as a blog! If we hadn’t attended Pre-college at FIT or enrolled in Fashion Journalism, City Style would have never been born. We are so lucky to have met each other and are so fortunate for the small bit of success we have had thus far. Now that it’s (almost) 2014, we are looking forward to growing even more. Here are our Top 5 Favorite Moments of 2013:
5) Jordan featured in Seventeen Magazine’s Real Girls Guide to Back-to-School style!
“It was so cool to be featured on seventeen.com! I was so honored that they chose me, and it was awesome seeing my picture on their website” -Jordan
4) Alex from Los Angeles joins City Style!
3) Lily goes to Lollapalooza!
2) Jordan and Adrien visit CBS News and interview an intern from Seventeen Magazine!
“These are experiences I am going to remember for the rest of my life! Being at CBS Studios was unlike anything I have ever done before-everyone there was so kind to us and hearing Kim’s story was truly inspirational.” -Jordan
“Devin was so sweet! She taught us so much about interning , writing for an online platform and shared amazing stories from Seventeen. It was a great experience getting to meet with her! -Adrien
1) Meeting eachother at FIT!
Recognize anyone? From left: Jordan (DC Blogger), Adrien (NYC Blogger), Lily (Chicago blogger) and Victoria (of http://www.rawcouture.wordpress.com)
“My week at FIT was probably the seven days of my entire life. I met amazing girls that I share so much in common with and I gained a ton of insight on the fashion and journalism industries. Plus, getting to spend a week in my favorite place in the whole world is priceless.” -Jordan
Happy New Year!

Happy holidays everyone! Now that it is Christmas break, I decided to go window shopping around a train station and found this adorable brick book store that I wanted to explore. While shopping, I met this stylish person, Brent! I started to ask him about his style and he was so friendly. He described his look as urban with a “little hint of desert.” This is kind of dressing is very LA.
His top was from JCPenny, gray vest from H&M, khaki pants from PacSun and shoes from 21Men. When I asked about his cool messenger bag, he couldn’t recall where he bought it- he reckons it was a gift or from a vintage boutique.
The weather in California this time of year can be a bit bipolar, which gives us Californians the freedom to experiment with a variety of style. I think Brent’s outfit perfectly blends both summer and winter elements.
Have a Glamorous Christmas!

Alex finds East Coast style in the heart of Los Angeles
Here in LA, we are blessed with sunny skies and warm weather year round. But ’tis the season when the temperatures dip into the low 50’s, and there are so many amazing outfits to be inspired by that incorporate winter weather essentials right here on the streets of downtown Los Angeles.
So, I was on the hunt for posh guys when I met stylish Stuart, who was strolling through the City Hall neighborhood. It was one of the coldest LA days I had ever experienced and I told him the outfit he was wearing was very East Coast. He told me that he loves to layer in a warm, solid palette. When I asked him where he bought his ultra-cool gray vest, he couldn’t quite remember if he it was purchased from H&M or EXPRESS. “One of those two!” he told me with a laugh. He got his tight leather jacket at 21 Men, as well as the pants. The scarf was from a vintage shop “where [he] finds so many other fashion treasures.”
Stuart is a photographer who was shooting around LA when I spotted him. I wish I could’ve seen his instagram! Keep warm and have a wonderful winter!

Hey CityStylers! Alex here. I hope you are all having a great summer. I’m so excited about my first post and I hope you enjoy it too!
Street Style hunting is so fun! On this hot summer day, I didn’t find too many boys my age, but I met Diego and I asked him about his unique outfit. He recalls getting most of it at H&M and the shoes at 21Men. I really admire how he put his own touch on the outfit by rolling up the cuffs of his pants. His hat is pretty unique too-it really screams LA band member. Who knows…maybe he is in a band!

I am Alexander Morales and I am excited to help out with this inspirational blog. I live in the sunshine of Los Angeles here on the west coast. I will be helping out with contributing teen guy’s style. From New York to L.A., we are truly inspired by the lifestyle around us and I’m going to take full advantage of it. I also love interior design! At school people know me as one of the best dressed boys on campus! My celebrity inspirations are Olivia Palermo, Jake T. Austin, and Anna Wintour. When I do travel to New York, I love to check up on Bergdorf Goodman, because everything there is ah-mazing! In the end, I hope is to encourage more boys to be inspired by style not swag. As I always say, “Swag will fade, but class is forever”.
